Merge Youth Jam Sessions

Merge Youth Jam is a new live music initiative from Merge Music, created to give young musicians the opportunity to perform, connect with other performers, and build confidence in a supportive live environment.

The program will include regular jam sessions throughout the year, giving singers, instrumentalists and bands the chance to try out material, collaborate with other musicians and gain valuable performance experience.

These sessions will lead toward a larger end-of-year event, where performers will have the opportunity to take the stage in a full live performance setting.

The end-of-year event is planned to include:

• performances from soloists, duos and bands

• a lively audience atmosphere

• optional awards and prizes celebrating young musicians

• opportunities for emerging performers to showcase their talent

This event is intended to bring together young musicians from across the Northern Rivers community, while also creating exciting performance opportunities for students involved in Merge Music programs.

We are currently developing the program and working on the event structure, with plans for the main performance event to take place in Term 4.

Merge Music welcomes young musicians, singers and bands who are interested in performing at future events, showcases and youth jam sessions.
