Sisters of Neon Term1 2026

Merge Music Live at the Ale Trail – Cherry St Bowlo-Little Likes (Oct 2025)

Merge Music Live at the Ale Trail – Cherry St Bowlo-Little Likes (Oct 2025)

What began as a simple idea to bring women together through music has quickly grown into something truly special. In our very first term, Sisters of Neon welcomed an overwhelming response from the local community, with over 50 women registering to sing, connect, laugh, and rediscover the joy of music together.

Each Tuesday night at Lennox Head Anglican Hall has become more than just a choir rehearsal - it’s become a vibrant women’s community space filled with warmth, encouragement, fun, and friendship. With welcome drinks on arrival, social time before rehearsals, uplifting vocal warm-ups, and plenty of laughter throughout the night, the atmosphere has been electric from the very beginning.

This term’s repertoire has included crowd favourites such as We Belong (Pat Benatar), Dancing Queen (ABBA), and I Love Rock ’n’ Roll (Joan Jett & the Blackhearts), with our much-loved encore sing-along at the end of each session giving everyone a chance to let loose and sing purely for fun together.

As we move towards our Week 8 performance evening for family and friends, the excitement is continuing to build. The evening will celebrate everything the women have worked towards throughout the term, followed by a relaxed social gathering to celebrate the friendships and community that have formed along the way.

Sisters of Neon has already become so much more than a choir - it’s a place for women to reconnect with themselves, with music, and with one another in a fun, welcoming, and inclusive environment.

Merge Music Live at the Ale Trail – Cherry St Bowlo-Little Likes (Oct 2025)

Little Likes performed as part of the Ballina Ale Trail Festival at Cherry Street Sports Club, where Merge Music showcased emerging Northern Rivers artists to the local community. The folk-pop sister duo from Broken Head brought a warm and engaging sound to the stage, performing with confidence and musicality.

Jasmine sings and plays both acoustic and electric guitar, while Aiya provides the rhythmic backbone on drums. Coming from a musical family whose parents have toured and performed extensively overseas, the sisters have clearly grown up surrounded by music — something that shines through in their natural stage presence and connection as performers.

Their performance was a highlight of the afternoon, contributing to a lively and successful day of live music at the festival.

Merge Music Live at the Ale Trail – Cherry St Bowlo-Out of Date (Oct 2025)

Out of Date performed as part of the Ballina Ale Trail Festival at Cherry Street Sports Club, where Merge Music showcased emerging Northern Rivers talent to the local community. The trio — Charlie, Eli and Yemaya — brought huge energy to the stage, performing a mix of original songs and contemporary influences.

With their versatile musicianship and dynamic stage presence, the band delivered a confident and engaging performance to the lively festival crowd. The day was a great success, giving these young musicians the chance to experience a real live gig environment while building confidence and connecting with local audiences.

Merge Youth Jam-Club Lennox Sports (July 2025)

Merge Music’s first Youth Jam for 2025 brought young musicians together for a relaxed afternoon of live music, collaboration and performance at Club Lennox. We had bands, duo's and soloists all on stage. Such an inspiration to see and hear these talented individuals doing their thing!
